On Wednesday 13 October 2021, one of the most hotly-anticipated social media trends of the year took place – #NoBraDay – a hashtag which does exactly what it says on the tin.
One of the accounts leading the way on Twitter this year was the UK-based @NoBraDay2021, which was established several years ago to promote body confidence and support the #NoBraDay initiative.
But while No Bra Day sounds like some kind of dream alternate universe to live in for 24 hours (a bit like Homer Simpson in the Land of Chocolate), there is actually a very serious message behind it.
Falling as it does in October – right in the middle of Breast Cancer Awareness Month – #NoBraDay is designed to encourage women to go braless as a means to raise awareness about breast cancer and remind them to check their breasts regularly.
And given the fact #NoBraDay was trending virtually all day, we certainly hope it succeeded in spreading the word about this incredibly important issue.
So, with that keenly in mind, let’s look at how some braless enthusiasts marked the occasion…

Yes, we know this is in the US – but if London Underground want to encourage people back on the Tube, there’d be no greater marketing technique than this… 👀 #NoBraDay2021 @nobraday2021 pic.twitter.com/8AucTczlg8
